Dear Covington Families,

We have had a GREAT three days back at Covington! 🐾 Our halls have been filled with smiles, hugs, laughter, and lots of excitement! It has been wonderful to see our students settling in, getting comfortable, and learning the routines and procedures that help our Coyote Pack keep moving in the right direction.

I am incredibly proud of how well our students have done these past few days! They are learning, growing, and showing us more and more each day what it means to be part of the Covington Coyote Pack.

Lunch & Recess

I have received a few questions about our lunch and recess times. These time frames are the exact same as last year. The only change is that during the last five minutes of lunch, we are asking students to quietly finish their meals so we can prepare for a smooth transition.

Carpool Reminder

Carpool is moving smoothly, and I know it will continue to get even better as we settle into our routines! PLEASE STAY IN YOUR CAR. This is an important safety issue. Your student will always load from the passenger side of your vehicle. Thank you for helping us keep our students safe and our carpool line moving efficiently!

Bus Tags Have Arrived!

Great news—bus tags have arrived! We will now be able to have students badge in and out of the buses. This will help make dismissal smoother and quicker as we continue to refine our procedures.

Next week, we will enter our first full week of school! I am so excited to see our Coyotes continue to learn, grow, build relationships, and become more comfortable with all of our routines.

NWEA Testing Begins Tuesday

We will begin NWEA testing on Tuesday with the Math assessment. This assessment is an important tool that helps us understand where each student is academically and identify the skills they may need additional support or practice with. The data will also help our teachers create flexible student groupings so we can provide instruction that is targeted to each student’s individual needs. We appreciate your support as we begin this process and look forward to using this information to help every Coyote continue to learn, grow, and thrive! 🐾

As a reminder, students are not permitted to have smartphones or smartwatches on them during the school day. Both devices should be turned off and stored in the student’s backpack inside their locker for the duration of the school day.
